Technically, Disney has already "retired" the name Genie+ and replaced it with a revamped system. As of July 24, 2024, the service was renamed Lightning Lane Multi Pass. While the core functionality remains similar—allowing guests to skip the regular "standby" lines for a fee—the rebranding was designed to simplify the confusing terminology and better align with the new Lightning Lane Single Pass (formerly Individual Lightning Lane) and the ultra-premium Lightning Lane Premier Pass introduced in late 2024. At Disneyland in 2026, the Multi Pass still includes digital PhotoPass downloads and allows you to make your first selection only after you have scanned your ticket and entered the theme park. The "Genie" name still exists, but it refers specifically to the free, AI-powered itinerary planner within the Disneyland app that provides predicted wait times and recommendations, rather than the paid skip-the-line service that most people were used to calling Genie Plus.
