Is Guardians of the Galaxy Scarier Than Tower of Terror?
The ride itself is shorter, faster and more intense than Tower of Terror was, but it's not a huge change.

From the back story, to theming, to ride movements, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is one of the scariest attractions at Walt Disney World. If your child is sensitive to scary movies or themes, they may be too frightened to even get into the elevator.

It is definitely tame compared to drop tower rides at a lot of other parks, since on many of those, you're out in the open with your legs dangling; TOT is a lot less intimidating since you're enclosed in an elevator and don't see how high up you are.
There are a few physical sets in the ride, but the visuals are primarily a variety of projections on screens positioned throughout the ride building. The screens vary in size, with some being very large. Do I wear 3D glasses on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind? No.
The new Guardians ride is a roller coaster, and not just any roller coaster. One of the big features of the ride is a unique ride vehicle that allows for 360-degree motion and reverse launches.
There's one more member of the new Guardians that's worth noting: a young girl with white hair (played by Kai Zen), rescued from the High Evolutionary's lab. The credits identify her as Phyla, an apparent nod to the comics character Phyla-Vell.
