Is it worth it to go to Typhoon Lagoon?

Typhoon Lagoon, a tropical paradise-themed water park on the resort's sprawling property, is definitely worth visiting on a long Disney World vacation. Along with its attractions and wave pool, Typhoon Lagoon is home to solid food and beverage options and a fun late-night dance party.

Typhoon Lagoon is widely considered "worth it" in 2026, especially for those who prefer an immersive, tropical "shipwreck" atmosphere over the more clinical feel of standard water parks. Its standout feature is the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, which produces some of the world's largest North American simulated waves—it's a high-value experience for both swimmers and surfers. For thrill-seekers, the "Crush 'n' Gusher" water coaster is a top-tier attraction. In 2026, a major "pro" is that Disney Resort guests can enjoy free admission on their check-in day, making it an incredible value for families. Compared to its sister park, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon feels more shaded and lush, which is a peer-to-peer "win" during the intense Florida summer heat. If you are traveling with toddlers, the "Ketchakiddee Creek" area is excellent, but if you have teenagers, the surf pool alone makes the ticket price worthwhile. It’s the perfect "active relaxation" day to break up the intense pace of the four main Disney theme parks.
