Is it worth visiting Costa Teguise?

Costa Teguise is well situated to explore the many tourist attractions in the North of Lanzarote, such as the Cueva de los Verdes, Jameos del Agua and the Jardin de Cactus. All of which were created by local artist César Manrique, whose former home and studio is also just a ten minute drive away in Tahiche.

A walkabout through Teguise allows the visitor to get a feel for what life was like at the beginning of colonial times. As previous poster said, The Square is probably as busy as you will find in one area (presuming you are in Costa Teguise). Other places around the resort have their own individual things going on, but no strip as such. Costa Teguise has a very relaxed vibe going on - the main reason why we love it so much.

The Pueblo Marinero is the central square of Costa Teguise. Although it would be wrong to attribute the complete design of “El Pueblo Marinero” to César Manrique, we can confirm his collaboration in the project.

The entire walk on the promenade between Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise will take around 5 to 6 hours each way. Tourists can then use a local bus or taxi in order to get back to the resort where they are staying, or they can simply walk back.
