What is the main square in Teguise?

The Pueblo Marinero is the central square of Costa Teguise. Although it would be wrong to attribute the complete design of “El Pueblo Marinero” to César Manrique, we can confirm his collaboration in the project.

As previous poster said, The Square is probably as busy as you will find in one area (presuming you are in Costa Teguise). Other places around the resort have their own individual things going on, but no strip as such. Costa Teguise has a very relaxed vibe going on - the main reason why we love it so much.

A walkabout through Teguise allows the visitor to get a feel for what life was like at the beginning of colonial times. As well as its heritage, the ancient capital is home to museums such as the house of the Marques de Herrera y Rojas (Marquis of Herrera y Rojas) and the Casa Perdomo (Perdomo House).

The biggest market on the island every Sunday the Teguise market Lanzarote. This small normally peaceful village comes alive on a Sunday and sellers of art, crafts, and food flock to be met by tourists and locals looking for a bargain.

Hiking around Teguise is one of the best ways to experience more of the landscape, although finding the right route is not always easy.

Heading north of the island, in Teguise, we find Charco del Palo. Although it is not a beach, it is a set of natural pools and nudist coves, where people enjoy the sun, the sea and very little clothing.

The heart of Lanzarote's nightlife can be found in its major towns and resorts, particularly Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise, and Playa Blanca. These areas are dotted with an array of bars, clubs, and live music venues that cater to various tastes.

Puerto del Carmen has the busiest vibe and that incredible long Strip. Costa Teguise has a more laid back, surfy feel, and feels more Spanish, as well as being more compact. Playa Blanca is quieter than either and feels a little more upmarket, but it's very spread out.

Costa Teguise is well situated to explore the many tourist attractions in the North of Lanzarote, such as the Cueva de los Verdes, Jameos del Agua and the Jardin de Cactus. All of which were created by local artist César Manrique, whose former home and studio is also just a ten minute drive away in Tahiche.

Costa Teguise nightlife is much more limited than the likes of Puerto del Carmen or Playa Blanca, which appeal more to clubbers and groups of friends. Many bars and restaurants here also play live music such as jazz, although it's not nearly as frantic as Lanzarote's bigger resorts.

The entire walk on the promenade between Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise will take around 5 to 6 hours each way. Tourists can then use a local bus or taxi in order to get back to the resort where they are staying, or they can simply walk back.
