Choosing between Pisa (PSA) and Florence (FLR) airports depends on your destination and budget. Pisa’s Galileo Galilei Airport is the larger international hub, handling the majority of low-cost carriers like Ryanair, making it often cheaper and more accessible for travelers from across Europe. It has excellent train links (via the PisaMover) that can get you to Florence in about an hour. Florence’s Amerigo Vespucci Airport is much closer to the city center, making it far more convenient if Florence is your primary base. However, its shorter runway means it is more prone to weather-related diversions and generally hosts more expensive, full-service airlines with fewer direct connections.
