Is Rabbit Card worth it?

The BTS Skytrain Rabbit card is a must when in Bangkok! Redeeming it was a breeze – just showed our passport and QR code at the train counter. It made navigating the city a breeze and was super handy for grabbing food too. Highly recommend getting one for a seamless and convenient Bangkok experience!

In 2026, the Rabbit Card is absolutely worth it for anyone spending more than a day in Bangkok. It is the primary contactless, stored-value card for the BTS Skytrain (Green, Gold, Pink, and Yellow lines), allowing you to skip the often-massive queues at ticket machines and simply "tap-and-go" at the gates. Beyond transit, its "true value" lies in its ubiquity; it is accepted as a cashless payment method at thousands of retail shops, food courts, and restaurants including McDonald's, Starbucks, and Burger King. Using the card often grants you a small discount per trip (typically 1 Baht) and access to "Rabbit Rewards" which can be redeemed for various deals via their app. While it currently cannot be used on the MRT Subway or Airport Link, the convenience of using it for both the Skytrain and daily small purchases makes it an essential tool for navigating Bangkok efficiently. The initial 100 Baht issuing fee is quickly offset by the time saved and the exclusive "10-15% discounts" often offered at participating merchants for cardholders.
