Is San Terminal 1 and 2 connected?

TERMINAL LAYOUT San Diego airport has two terminals; Terminal 1 with two concourses (Gates 3-10 and 11-18) and Terminal 2, also with two concourses (Gates 20-32 and 33-51). Walkways connect the two terminals but only the concourses in Terminal 2 are connected post-security.

The walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 takes about 10 minutes, and from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 can take up to 20 minutes if you're walking from farthest gate to farthest gate.

An enclosed walkway connects the Departures Level of Terminal 1 with the Arrivals Level of Terminal 2. Once you pass through security in both terminals, you are within a common departures area, and you can freely walk between the shopping areas and boarding gates across both terminals.

STL Airport provides a free Terminal Shuttle which runs 24 hours a day between Exit 12 at both terminals. There is no route to walk between terminals at this time. Shuttle ride time is approximately 10 minutes, as Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are just over one mile apart.
