Is Tower of Terror getting replaced?

Disney is going to turn the Tower of Terror into a normal elevator. The new ride will follow the same path as it currently does. However, instead of unexpected rises and falls, it will just be a normal elevator. Guests will still experience the 5th dimension and travel horizontally in their elevator.

However, the much-loved attraction is closing and will be replaced with Dr. Doofenshmirtz Drop-Inator. Some little known fact about the tower is that Florida state law requires that a building that reaches or surpasses 200 ft must have an aircraft beacon be placed on top. The imagineers built the building at 199 ft to avoid putting a beacon on, which they felt would detach guests from the illusion of the Orlando hotel.
