The City of Tybee Island's Ocean Rescue provides seasonal Lifeguard Services between April and September, and we encourage the public to swim in life-guard protected areas.

This beach is huge, parking is $2.00 per hour 2 hour minimum. There can be sand fleas but I did not get a bite, one friend may have. The water was warm like a bath, clean and clear. Bath house could have had toilets washed, but otherwise it was basically a clean beach bathroom.

Tybee has life guards on duty during the summer season of May 1 through Labor Day, but not at every beach point, and some beach areas are reserved for surfers while others are off-limits to water recreation due to the dangers of surge and rocks in the water - all of these areas can be seen in our beach maps.
