The City of Tybee Island's Ocean Rescue provides seasonal Lifeguard Services between April and September, and we encourage the public to swim in life-guard protected areas.
Tybee is a “Pay to Park Community” in order to keep critical island services available for visitors and residents. Since parking is so important to keeping the island in good condition for your next visit, there are no free, public parking spaces on Tybee.
This beach is huge, parking is $2.00 per hour 2 hour minimum. There can be sand fleas but I did not get a bite, one friend may have. The water was warm like a bath, clean and clear. Bath house could have had toilets washed, but otherwise it was basically a clean beach bathroom.
