What are the different color lanes on Princess Cruises?

The updated OceanReady procedures classify guests into three categories: the green lane, the blue lane, and the accessibility lane. The green lane offers the fastest embarkation for guests who had their medallions shipped and completed their travel checklists.

On Princess Cruises, the "colors" you see are not physical lanes on the ship, but rather digital indicators and statuses associated with the MedallionClass technology. When you arrive at the port, your "readiness" is indicated by a color code in the app: Green Lane means you are "OceanReady" (all documents uploaded, Medallion shipped to your home) and can walk straight onto the ship in minutes. Blue Lane means you still need to complete some steps or haven't received your Medallion, requiring a stop at a check-in desk. Once on board, the physical Medallion itself comes in different colors that reflect your loyalty tier in the Captain’s Circle: Gold (after 1 cruise), Ruby (after 3 cruises or 30 days), Platinum (after 5 cruises or 50 days), and the top-tier Elite (after 15 cruises or 150 days), which is typically a black or dark grey color. These colors help the crew identify you; for example, an Elite member might be greeted by name and offered specific perks like a free mini-bar setup or laundry service simply because their "color" shows up on the crew's handheld tablets as they walk by.
