Disney officially replaced the free FastPass system with a paid service originally called Disney Genie+, which has since been refined and rebranded into Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass as of 2026. Under the current system, guests must pay a daily fee (typically ranging from $18 to $35 depending on the date and demand) to access the "Lightning Lane" entrance for a variety of popular attractions. Guests can make their first three selections in advance of their visit—7 days early for Disney Resort hotel guests and 3 days early for everyone else. For the most "high-demand" rides, such as TRON Lightcycle / Run or Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Disney uses the Single Pass system, where you pay a separate, individual fee (usually $7 to $25) specifically for that one ride. While the free "paper" FastPass days are gone, the new digital system is designed to provide more flexibility through the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps.
