What is a parent swap pass?

After riding, they give their Parent Swap pass to the ride operator, and the other parent/guardian, who's been taking care of the little ones, can walk up the exit to get right on the ride.

A Parent Swap Pass (also known as "Rider Switch" or "Child Swap") is a specialized service offered by major theme parks like Disney World, Universal Studios, and Thorpe Park to assist families with children who do not meet height requirements. This pass allows one parent or guardian to wait with the non-riding child while the rest of the group waits in the standard or "Lightning Lane" queue. Once the first group finishes the ride, the "waiting" parent can then enter through a fast-access entrance (like the Lightning Lane or a dedicated "Swap" gate) to ride the attraction without having to wait in the full line again. To use this, you must approach the greeter at the ride's entrance with your entire group. They will scan your MagicBand or provide a physical pass to the parent who is staying behind. This system is a lifesaver for families, as it ensures that adults can still enjoy thrill rides like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind or VelociCoaster without having to split up the family for hours at a time, and the "second" rider can often bring one or two other guests back with them so they don't have to ride alone.
