What is faster rock n Roller Coaster or Tron?

Your ride starts out with a launch from 0 to 57 mph in a matter of seconds. This makes it the third fastest roller coaster at Disney World, after Tron Lightcycle/Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

In the battle of Disney’s high-speed thrills, TRON Lightcycle / Run is faster than Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. As of 2026, TRON (located in Magic Kingdom) holds the title of one of the fastest coasters at any Disney park worldwide, reaching a top speed of 59 to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h). Its launch is engineered to mimic the high-intensity acceleration of a digital lightcycle entering the Grid. In contrast, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster (at Disney's Hollywood Studios) tops out at approximately 57 miles per hour (92 km/h). While the speed difference is small—only about 3 mph—the sensation of speed varies significantly between the two. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster features a much more aggressive initial launch, going from 0 to 57 mph in just 2.8 seconds in total darkness with three inversions, which often makes it feel more intense. TRON, however, uses a smoother, magnetic launch system and features an outdoor canopy section that emphasizes wind resistance and visual speed. If you are looking for the absolute highest number on the speedometer, TRON is the winner, but for raw, neck-snapping G-forces, Aerosmith still puts up a massive fight.

Overall milder than Guardians. Tron is somewhere in between what you seem to be ok with or not. Lots of fun. It feels fast, but smoother than Big Thunder and Space Mountain.

We would classify it as less intense than Expedition Everest or the inversions on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, but more intense than the more “family” coasters like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Slinky Dog Dash.

TRON does move up and down a fair bit, but there's very little of that “stomach-drop” feeling with your feet leaving the floor. That's for two reasons. The first is that on a Lightcycle your head points down, not your feet. But the bigger reason is that almost all of TRON's rise-and-drop motion includes a turn.

If your child loves Rock N Rollercoaster, we think they will be ok on TRON Lightcycle Run. While this one does not go upside down, the speed certainly makes up for it! We'd stick with kids ages 8 and up.

I fit great on the test seats and had an easy time loading onto the ride itself. I did see a woman of a similar size as me for whom the test seats did not work, and I think it was because she had larger calves. The ride has a bar that drops behind your calves as a point of security.

The TRON ride vehicles — or Lightcycles — are similar to a motorcycle. Like the vehicles on Avatar Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom, you will lean forward when you board, with leg restraints that come down around the back of your calves. The back of the seat will come down to secure you in as well.

The initial launch provides riders with that feeling of their stomach being left behind them — and can definitely trigger motion sickness. The ride starts inside, and within the first five seconds, you're outside. If you're light sensitive, this could be a trigger as well if you ride during the day.

If so, TRON should be on your list! It's not the fastest ride in Disney World (that title goes to Test Track, which tops out at about 65 MPH), but it's pretty close. During the initial launch, TRON riders get close to hitting 60 MPH. Essentially, it's about as fast as if you were riding a motorcycle on the highway.
