The "2pm rule" was a long-standing policy at Walt Disney World related to Park Hopping, which allowed guests with a Park Hopper ticket to visit a second theme park only after 2:00 PM. This was implemented as part of the post-pandemic reservation system to manage park capacity. However, as of early 2024 and continuing into 2026, Disney has officially removed this restriction. Guests with Park Hopper benefits or an Annual Pass can now "hop" to another park at any time during the day, provided the park has not reached its maximum capacity (which is rare). This change was a significant "quality of life" improvement for visitors, allowing for much more flexible itineraries, such as having breakfast in EPCOT and then immediately heading to Magic Kingdom. While the "2pm rule" is technically a thing of the past, many veteran Disney travelers still refer to it out of habit. It is always wise to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit to ensure there aren't any special event closures that might temporarily affect your ability to enter a specific park.
