What is the fastest way to ride the Rise of the Resistance?
As a general rule of thumb, the fastest way to ride Rise of the Resistance will almost always be to use one of the Disney Genie individual lightning lanes.

Because of the introduction of Disney Genie+, there are two ways to ride Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland. The first option is to wait in the standby line. We recommend joining the standby queue if you ever see the wait time listed as less than 60 minutes for the best experience.
If you want the best time to do Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in the first half of the day, line up around 11 am. The posted wait time will still likely be triple digits, but it's typically falling at this point rather than rising.
If Rise of the Resistance is a must-do for you and you are trying to make the most of your day in the park, spending some extra cash for a Lightning Lane might be the way to go. Those who are staying at Disney World hotels have early entry and can hop in line as soon as the park opens for them.
Guests of a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, Shades of Green®, and Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels are eligible to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes beginning at 7:00 AM. All other guests must wait until the park officially opens to make those purchases.
With these numbers, the theoretical hourly ride capacity would be 1,280. Compared to other new attractions, this is about the same as Na'vi River Journey but less than Flight of Passage's 1600 and 1800 for Smuggler's Run.
The motion base is then coupled with a drop tower-like mechanism to deliver a freefall. Think Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, but instead of a 199-foot drop, Rise drops perhaps 25 or 30 feet. It's the same idea! Now, it's not the whole ride that varies! In fact, the attraction is the same for everyone until you get to the trackless portion of the ride. For the trackless part, you're sorted into either the FRONT First Order Transport Vehicle or the BACK First Order Transport Vehicle.
If You Were On the Ride. If you are physically on the ride (as in seated in a ride vehicle) when it breaks down, you will likely receive a Lightning Lane pass to return and re-ride it later in the day.
