What is the Gringotts warning?

For those who take, but do not earn, Must pay most dearly in their turn, So if you seek beneath our floors. A treasure that was never yours, Thief, you have been warned, beware.

The "Gringotts Warning" refers to the safety and health advisory provided to guests before boarding Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts at Universal Studios Florida. Because the ride is a hybrid of a roller coaster and a 3D motion-simulator, the warning is quite comprehensive. It cautions guests who have heart, back, or neck problems, as well as those who are prone to motion sickness or have a fear of heights/enclosed spaces. A specific technical warning involves the "tilting" track at the beginning and the sudden drops and launches throughout the experience. Additionally, because the ride uses 3D "goblin goggles," the warning mentions that those with sensitivity to strobe lights or loud noises may be affected. In 2026, the ride also has a strict "No Loose Articles" policy; guests are warned that all bags and loose items must be placed in a locker, as the ride features high-speed maneuvers and 360-degree rotations that could cause items to fall. There is also a height requirement of 42 inches (107 cm), and the warning reminds parents that children must be supervised at all times.

As far as physical thrills go, Gringotts falls somewhere between Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain, with only one short (albeit unique) drop and no upside-down flips.

Yes you can walk through without riding. There is so much to see and do in both parks for Harry Potter. They have so many little shops you can go in and check out what they have especially if you want to buy a wand. The only problem we had was a friend of mine could not get on the rides because she was a little to big.

While there are dozens of dips, turns climbs and drops during the ride, there are probably hundreds of one-liners and visual puns. Like the show on which it's based, The Simpsons Ride definitely has an edge, and operates on several levels.

Despite pre-ride warnings about high-speed thrills, Escape from Gringotts is a family coaster that most visitors, other than those with excessive scaredy-cat tendencies, should be able to tolerate and enjoy. It is most certainly not too scary for children.
