A good investment, you save a couple hours for around $14. Flight of Passage really took me on a journey. I'd go back to Animal Kingdom just for this ride.
Hands down, we thought Avatar Flight of Passage was the best ride at Animal Kingdom — heck, it is definitely the best ride at Walt Disney World! It is no surprise this made it to the top of the list for our best rides at Disney for teens too! (Although we haven't had a chance to visit Galaxy's Edge yet.)
Flight of Passage is a simulator type ride with soaring heights, drops, and quick turns. There's definitely a chance motion sickness will occur. The flying sensation feels very real, including a moment where the virtual banshee goes “upside down.” This is just simulated, the ride vehicle itself does not go upside down.
In my opinion, it's the best of all the 3D flying simulator rides. The line for Avatar Flight of Passage was consistently long throughout the day, at one point reaching 150 minutes toward the early evening. The good news is, that Disney offers a limited number of lightning lane entrance passes, but they do go quickly.

The 12-acre land, inspired by the Avatar movie, opens in Florida in late May at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom. It cost a half-billion dollars to build. The marquee attraction is Flight of Passage, where a 3-D simulator plunges riders into a cinematic world.
Thirty minutes before the official opening of Animal Kingdom, on-site guests will be allowed to enter the park. If you are on-site and are entering during Early Theme Park Entry, we recommend you go straight to Flight of Passage (and only if you can do so pretty speedily).
A: At Pandora – The World of Avatar, our family-friendly Na'vi River Journey has no height restrictions, while the thrilling Avatar Flight of Passage does require riders to be at least 44 inches tall—which is comparable to the height requirement for Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain.
Pandora offers two vastly different rides. The Na'vi River Journey is the more suitable one for kids of all ages. Meanwhile, Avatar Flight of Passage is an intense and fast-moving 3D ride that's better suited for big kids, tweens, and adults.
