What kind of seat is United Premium Plus?

United Economy Plus offers extra legroom over standard economy seats, but otherwise you won't notice any differences. The seat is the same size as in regular economy class, as are the amenities. By contrast, Premium Plus provides a larger seat, more space, an enhanced meal service, bedding and amenities.

United Premium Plus is a dedicated premium economy cabin that offers a significantly upgraded experience compared to standard Economy or Economy Plus. The seat itself is a "purple" branded, wider seat (usually 18.5 to 19 inches) with up to 38 inches of pitch, providing much more legroom and a deeper recline of about 6 inches. Each seat features a dedicated, adjustable leg rest and footrest, as well as a larger 13-inch seatback entertainment screen. You will find more substantial armrests that include the tray table and a small storage area for personal items, plus individual power outlets and USB ports. In addition to the physical seat, passengers receive an upgraded amenity kit, a plush Saks Fifth Avenue blanket and pillow, and noise-reducing headphones. The dining experience is also elevated, featuring multi-course meals served on real china with metal cutlery, accompanied by complimentary alcoholic beverages. It is positioned as a "business-light" product, offering many of the comfort perks of a premium cabin without the lie-flat bed of Polaris.
