Where do Disney College Program kids stay?

Our program participants live at Flamingo Crossings Village, an American Campus Community (ACC), located next door to Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando, Florida.

Every Disney College Program intern must have full availability for work, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Participants can expect to work 30-50 hours a week. During peak season, Disney may expect their interns to work more than 50 hours a week.

Visitors. Visitors are welcome to visit a participant's apartment. However, non-program participants are prohibited from staying overnight. Visitor parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The program is aimed towards that 'average' college age, 18-23, but non-traditional students are welcome to apply and do get accepted!

Historically, the program has been very competitive, with over 12,000 applicants each year and an acceptance rate of under 20 percent.

Mixed-gender housing provides program participants, based on availability, the option to live and roommate link with whomever they choose, regardless of their sex or gender identity. You could be placed in a mixed-gender apartment unit and/OR a shared mixed-gender bedroom.

If you do not purchase a decal, you should not bring your vehicle, as you will NOT have a place to park. Once parking decals sell out, there may not be another opportunity to purchase a decal. If you do not have a vehicle, you may use the complimentary bus transportation, which can take you to and from work.

Participants may work indoors and outdoors at the theme parks, Disney Springs, water parks, and/or resorts. They will earn an hourly rate based on their specific role. Beginning June 2023 Disney College Program Interns will earn $16.00 per hour.

Step 1: Make sure you meet the eligibility requirements. Achieving a program GPA of 2.0 or higher. Being enrolled at a college or university in the semester prior to your internship with the Disney College Program (Disney requirement).

If you don't already know how to cook, it would be a good idea to learn before you arrive. Unlike college, the DCP does not offer meal plans and eating out will get very expensive. If you plan to live in housing, you should be aware there are very strict rules.

The paid, semester-long internship program allows students to live just outside Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, or the Disneyland Resort in California, while earning college credit at Disney parks and resorts through a combination of on-the-job experience, shadowing, and seminars.
