Which alliance is Finnair part of?

Established in 1923, Finnair is Finland's flagship carrier. It joined the oneworld Alliance in 1999.

Finnair is a prominent member of the oneworld alliance, joining in 1999 as one of its early partners. This alliance membership is a cornerstone of Finnair's strategy, allowing it to offer seamless connections across a network that includes American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and Qatar Airways. For travelers in 2026, this means that Finnair Plus members can earn and redeem Avios (their loyalty currency) on any oneworld partner and enjoy shared benefits like lounge access and priority boarding if they hold Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald status. Finnair also participates in a lucrative "joint business" with American Airlines and British Airways on transatlantic routes, providing a highly integrated schedule and pricing structure that makes it a favorite for travelers heading between North America and Northern Europe or Asia via its efficient Helsinki hub.
