Why did Knotts get rid of Windseeker?

On September 21, 2012, Cedar Fair announced the temporary closure of all WindSeekers in response to two incidents at Knott's Berry Farm. All the installations, excluding Knott's Berry Farm, later reopened. The Knott's Berry Farm installation remained closed and was eventually relocated to Worlds of Fun.

Notes GhostRider was closed from September 8th, 2015 to June, 2016 for a refurbishment performed by GCI. During the refurbishment, the ride was re-tracked, some sections were re-profiled and the original three PTC trains were replaced by two GCI's Millennium Flyer trains.

Knott's Berry Farm has again opted to reinstate its chaperone policy for park-goers under 15 due to a number of unruly incidents in recent months. The original policy was put into place in July of last year, after a series of fights led to the park shutting down early.

Xcelerator closed again in mid-March 2022 due to a delayed shipment of a part. The park later announced that the ride would be reopening during the summer of 2023. However, On September 21, 2023, Xcelerator went dark after something broke while testing leaving an unknown reopening date.
