Are Disney wristbands free?

Anyone can get a MagicBand while at Disney World, however it might not be free. Annual pass holders and resort guests get MagicBands for free. However, if you are staying off property you will have to pay to purchase a MagicBand.

As of 2026, Disney MagicBands are no longer free for Walt Disney World or Disneyland resort guests. In previous years, they were provided at no cost with a resort stay, but they now range in price from approximately $34.99 for basic colors to $54.99 or more for limited-edition "High-Fidelity" designs celebrating anniversaries or characters. Resort guests and Passholders may receive a small discount if they pre-order through the app before arrival. While they aren't free, they are also not mandatory; guests can use the "MagicMobile" service on their smartphone’s digital wallet or request a free RFID-enabled "Key to the World" card from the front desk to enter parks and unlock hotel rooms. However, many find the high-fidelity convenience of the wearable "MagicBand+"—which includes haptic vibrations and light effects during fireworks—worth the cost for a seamless, hands-free experience while navigating the parks and water attractions.
