Can you wear flip flops to Typhoon Lagoon?

Rhonda, you are allowed to wear water shoes at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. For most all attractions there, you'll even be able to wear them down the water slides. Do make sure they are true water shoes, however, as flip flops are not permitted on the water slides themselves.

You can certainly wear flip-flops to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon (or Blizzard Beach), and in many ways, they are a practical choice for navigating the park’s pathways. The sand and concrete can become extremely hot under the Florida sun, making some form of footwear essential between attractions. However, you are not allowed to wear flip-flops on the actual water slides for safety reasons, as they can easily become loose and cause a trip hazard or get stuck in the slide's mechanisms. Most guests choose to leave their flip-flops at the "shoe cubbies" located near the entrance of each slide or simply leave them at their designated seating area or locker. If you prefer to have foot protection while on the slides, the only permitted footwear is specialized water shoes that are securely fastened to your feet and do not have any metal buckles or sharp zippers. These water shoes can be worn on almost all attractions, including the "Miss Adventure Falls" and the "Crush 'n' Gusher." For the "Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool," which is the largest wave pool in North America, wearing flip-flops is impossible due to the sheer force of the waves, so most people leave them on the beach before entering the water.
