Do Eurostar check names on tickets 2023?

On board Eurostar, staff don't check tickets (because you've already scanned yours in to get entry to the departure lounge and platforms), let alone ask names. I took a Eurostar in January 2023 and this was still the case. You could even visit and watch watch people scanning in their tickets – no names needed.

People Also Ask

Only the person named on the ticket may use it, but don't worry if you've just made a tiny spelling mistake. There's no need to let us know, just turn up and travel as normal.

The security check is similar to what happens at an airport with all luggage going through the x-ray machine (so you have to be able to lift it!), and passengers walking through a metal detector.

Tickets may not be offered for sale except by Eurostar Limited or its authorised agents. If a ticket is resold or transferred for profit or other commercial gain, it will become invalid and the holder may be refused access to the Eurostar train.

First and last will be sufficient as the ICAO standard for passports does not require a middle name.

Can you still fly if your name is spelled wrong on an airline ticket? No, you can't. TSA rules say the name on the boarding pass must exactly match the passenger's government-issued ID presented at the security checkpoint.

Where you print your Eurostar tickets depends on where your trip is departing from. But, whichever station you're catching the Eurostar from, you'll need to make sure you've printed your tickets at least 45 minutes beforehand - this gives you time to check in and board the train. You'll also need your ID to check in.
