Do you tip at a wine tasting in Napa?

Wine tasting rooms are not bars and your hosts compensation isn't meant to be dependent on tips. But, if your host has poured special wines that weren't part of the tasting you may want to consider it. That said, we're believers in rewarding great service so if you feel the experience warrants a tip, then give a tip.

My wife and I have had some incredible experiences in Napa at wine tastings. When we're finished, We typically leave $10 to $20 of whatever the wine tasting we do(we're wine Club members and enjoy comp tastings). No credit card info is ever given. We don't really buy bottles to take since we get them in our shipment.

On our Daily Group Tour we do NOT include a gratuity. Because this is a mixed group activity, we let you individually decide how much you appreciated the tour service. Most satisfied guests tip in the 15-20% range of the tour fee.

Taste the wine in small sips, not large gulps. Let it swirl in your mouth and enjoy the feel, the texture, and the taste. By swirling it you will get the whole experience and palate of tasting. Also, be observant of what lingers in your mouth after you swallow it or spit it out.
