Really worthwhile doing this ! The gardens were wonderful and as we moved around we sat here and there walking up the hillside and looking over to Monte and down to Funchal. Splendid views. We enjoyed every area of the garden and looked down on the iconic patchwork of foliage plants that is seen so often on postcards .
