Universal's Volcano Bay water theme park features two main primary pools that serve as the focal points for relaxation and play. The first and largest is Waturi Beach, a massive, multi-directional wave pool located at the base of the 200-foot Krakatau volcano. It features a sandy beach and multiple wave patterns throughout the day. The second is The Reef, a calmer leisure pool adjacent to Waturi Beach that provides a "front-row seat" to riders plunging through the Ko’okiri Body Plunge slide. While there are only two large "swimming" pools, the park is filled with other water-based areas including two lazy rivers (Kopiko Wai Winding River and the faster TeAwa The Fearless River) and two dedicated children's water play areas (Runamukka Reef and Tot Tiki Reef). Combined, these areas create a sprawling "water playground" experience that feels more like a tropical resort than a traditional concrete water park.
