How often do the ferries run to Toronto Island?

The ferry to Toronto Island runs, on average, every half hour. Because there are departures on a regular basis, you don't need to make a reservation. This makes it possible to visit Toronto Island spontaneously. Departures may get cancelled under certain climatic conditions, high tides and other emergencies.

You can get on any Toronto Island ferry from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal (the ferry docks) located near the base of Bay Street, south of Queens Quay. To get to the ferry terminal from Union Station, you have a few options. You could walk, which would take you about 10 minutes.
