There is no direct ferry service that travels from Niagara Falls to the Toronto Islands. To reach the islands, you must first travel to downtown Toronto, which is about 130 kilometers (80 miles) away from the falls. Travelers typically take the GO Train, a bus, or a car to reach the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal in Toronto, from where local ferries depart for Centre Island, Hanlan's Point, or Ward's Island. However, as of early 2026, a new high-speed hovercraft service called Hoverlink Ontario is in development, aiming to connect St. Catharines (near Niagara) to downtown Toronto in just 30 minutes. Even with this new service, passengers would land at Billy Bishop Airport near the waterfront and would still need to take a separate local ferry to access the Toronto Island Park.
