Epcot’s Test Track is considered a "thrill ride" rather than a "scary" ride, making it suitable for most children and adults who meet the 40-inch height requirement. It does not feature the large vertical drops or inversions found in traditional roller coasters. Instead, the "scare" factor comes from sudden bursts of speed, loud mechanical noises, and simulation of "near-miss" collisions. The ride puts you through a series of automotive tests, including a sharp braking test and a swerve to avoid a semi-truck. The climax involves your vehicle hurtling toward a solid wall that slides open at the last second, leading to an outdoor speed loop where the car reaches 65 mph (104 km/h). While this is the fastest ride at Disney World, it feels very similar to driving down a highway with the windows down. For small children, the indoor "dark ride" sections with bright neon lights might be slightly intense, but most find the outdoor speed section to be the most exhilarating part of the day rather than a frightening one.
