Is Guardians or Tron more intense?

The launch of Tron in particular is quite intense, reminds me of Test Track. The rest is fine. Overall milder than Guardians. Tron is somewhere in between what you seem to be ok with or not.

When comparing Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (Epcot) and TRON Lightcycle Run (Magic Kingdom), the "intensity" depends on whether you fear motion sickness or speed. Guardians is generally considered more intense in terms of duration and sensory overload. It is an "Omnicoaster" where the cars rotate 360 degrees while moving at 60 mph, often traveling backwards. The combination of the rotating motion and the massive screens can be very disorienting and is much more likely to cause motion sickness. On the other hand, TRON is more intense in terms of its initial physical launch; it propels you from 0 to nearly 60 mph in less than three seconds while you are leaned forward in a "motorcycle" position. However, TRON is much shorter—the entire ride lasts barely 60 seconds—and it moves in a very predictable, linear path with no backward motion or spinning. Most riders find TRON "scarier" during the launch, but Guardians "more intense" overall because it is a three-minute long, chaotic, and physically demanding experience. If you are prone to dizziness, TRON is the safer bet; if you want the ultimate "thrill" experience with music and storytelling, Guardians is the winner.

It feels fast, but smoother than Big Thunder and Space Mountain. Tron is definitely not a family coaster. It has a height restriction of 48 first of all, and the launch is as intense as many extreme coasters. Seven Dwarfs and Slinky Dog are family coasters.

TRON does move up and down a fair bit, but there's very little of that “stomach-drop” feeling with your feet leaving the floor. That's for two reasons. The first is that on a Lightcycle your head points down, not your feet. But the bigger reason is that almost all of TRON's rise-and-drop motion includes a turn.

At the end of the day, if your child doesn't like thrill rides, TRON is not the one for them. However, even children who DO like thrill rides may find this one too intimidating, loud, or intense. If you don't know whether your child likes thrill rides, this is not a good starter coaster.

The ride has no straight drops, but there are some areas where the track is curved so you're turning down (while the seat rotates keeping you facing the same way). It does not go upside down.

Cast Members recommended riding in the left seat for fewer g-forces and we actually would agree. It probably makes less of a difference than front versus back row, but Cast Members have recommended the middle car and left seat for the best chance at making it off with as little motion sickness as possible.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror If we're talking about the scariest rides at Disney World, I had to start with The Tower of Terror. I mean, it's all in the name! From the ghostly holograms, the 'death' defying drop(s) to the sinister theming, everything is designed to scare the Mickey outta you – and it really does.

TRON Lightcycle / Run is one of the fastest coasters at any Disney theme park in the world.

It is a bouncing that does bring you out of your seat as you drop (lap belts should be tightened to help minimize this movement). Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout is absolutely a scary ride and just may be too scary for some kids.

The initial launch provides riders with that feeling of their stomach being left behind them — and can definitely trigger motion sickness. The ride starts inside, and within the first five seconds, you're outside. If you're light sensitive, this could be a trigger as well if you ride during the day.

With top speeds of just under 60 miles per hour, TRON Lightcycle/Run is one of the fastest rides in Walt Disney World and certainly the fastest roller coaster you will find in Magic Kingdom. For comparison, its neighbor Space Mountain reaches half that maximum speed at 27 miles per hour.
