What is the difference between standard and preferred parking at Magic Kingdom?

Preferred Parking is generally closer to the theme park entrances, and it provides a shorter walk to the park gates as well as a quicker entry at the beginning of your Disney day and exit after your Disney day is complete. Standard Parking is currently priced at $25.00 a day for a car or motorcycle.

The difference between standard and preferred parking at the Magic Kingdom (located at the Transportation and Ticket Center) is primarily proximity and convenience. In 2026, Standard Parking costs $35 per day, while Preferred Parking ranges between $50 and $60, depending on the season. Preferred Parking spots are located in the closest possible lots to the main entrance and the security checkpoint, significantly reducing the amount of walking required at the start and end of the day. For guests in the standard lots, Disney provides complimentary parking trams to transport them to the main hub, but during peak times, wait times for these trams can add 15-20 minutes to your commute. Preferred guests can usually walk to the monorail or ferry in under five minutes without needing a tram. While the price gap is roughly $15-$25, many families find the extra cost worth it for the ease of a quick exit after the late-night fireworks, though it is worth noting that for Disney Resort guests and certain Annual Passholders, the "Standard" portion is free, and they only pay the "upgrade" difference for the preferred spot.
