What time do the pools at Wilderness Lodge open?

Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort Lifeguards are on duty here from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the pool is open from 7 a.m. to midnight. Swimming aids are allowed only in the shallow end of the pool. A water slide, kiddie pool and two spas, (one is hot and the other cooler), are found in the main pool area.

Unfortunately, guests will not have access to the pools at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The list of activities at Fort Wilderness is pretty long, one of my Mouseketeers is obsessed with the Campfires and S'mores. Some nights there are even Movies Under the Stars.

A boat is available for Guests to use as transportation between Disney's Wilderness Lodge and the Magic Kingdom. The boat ride is about 10-15 minutes long and will take you directly to the main entrance of the Magic Kingdom Park, near where the bag check station is located.

Most resorts have at least one other pool which Disney folks call the “quiet pool.” You don't have to be silent there, and children are certainly welcome to take a dip, but it is the place to be a bit more subdued in your activities. The boats that travel between Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, and the Contemporary Resort begin running at 6:45 AM. The boats servicing Magic Kingdom directly, usually make their first pickup about 45 minutes prior to park opening.

These hotels are on the Magic Kingdom monorail loop – most of them anyway. Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Villas, and Disney's Fort Wilderness Cabins and Campsites are considered Magic Kingdom-area hotels but do not have monorail service. Yes, year round. What is the water temperature like? The pools are heated throughout the year to a uniform 82 degrees Fahrenheit. You can swim in warm water even when the outdoor temperature is chiiiilly.

You are welcome to bring small swim floats, pool noodles, swim rings, or other similar pool toys for your little ones. The point to remember is that they do need to be small. The lifeguards at the Resort pools are very focused on safety and they do need to be able to see all the fins flipping around underwater.
