Disney's Contemporary Resort (0.5 miles away) One of the best hotels to stay at close to the Magic Kingdom is Disney's Contemporary Resort. The resort has a few modes of transportation to get to the park — you can walk (it's about 10-15 minutes) or take the Monorail!

However, there are still times of the year that are better than others as far as crowd size. We tend to find that the slowest times at Disney World are in the early fall, like September and the late winter, like February.

As you can guess if Monday is the busiest, Tuesday tends to be the best day of the week to go to Magic Kingdom. We also find Thursday to be one of the least busy days of the week at Magic Kingdom, with Sunday being a great weekend option.

The Magic Kingdom doesn't actually have a parking lot. Instead, guests can park at the Transportation and Ticket Center. They can then take either the Walt Disney World Monorail or a ferry boat across the Seven Seas Lagoon to reach the Magic Kingdom. Take the Monorail to Magic Kingdom!

You would take the Magic Kingdom Park monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC). Once you arrive at the Ticket and Transportation Center, you will disembark that monorail and board the resort loop monorail going to Epcot. Give yourself roughly 45 minutes for this trip.
