What is the difference between Harmonious and EPCOT Forever?

While Harmonious was full of favorite Disney Songs from movies and characters on the LED screen barges, Epcot forever removes all that and hits a different heartstring. The show is a tribute to all things Epcot from the old rides, shows, and attractions.

The final two “taco” barges have been removed from World Showcase Lagoon, signaling the end of Harmonious at EPCOT. Harmonious was originally designed to be a long-term replacement for Illuminations, but the unsightly hardware for the show proved to be its downfall.

As a whole, the visuals of Harmonious are pretty. The fountains, lasers, lights, and other effects are eye-catching and engaging. If you have a direct view of the Stargate, you'll likely leave impressed. The use of screens leaves something to be desired.

The Moana water ride is an exciting addition to EPCOT. By replacing The Seas pavilion and weaving Moana's narrative into its fabric, Disney is ensuring that the park continues to capture the essence of exploration and imagination.

We enjoyed it a lot more than anticipated. It's just a fireworks show, but it's a pretty good one. There is really no need to stake out a spot as you can view it from pretty much anywhere around the lagoon. We appreciated the nods to old school Epcot in the music.

EPCOT's World Showcase Lagoon is now free of all the Harmonious show platform barges. Last night, the final two taco-shaped barges from Harmonious were removed from the lagoon and moved backstage to begin demolition.
